Regional Training Upper Michigan 2017

Dear NAPCH Members

In spring of 2016, NAPCH hosted a mini seminar to all NAPCH members which was held at the LUCE Co. airport and fairgrounds located in the Easter U P. We trained approximately 10 K-9 teams from across Michigan, most of which were stationed in the U P.

We are again going to host a mini seminar at the same location on May 15th and 16th 2017, training will run from 8am-4pm on the 15th, 8am- 12 on the 16th. We will have 4 master trainers and 1 trainer on hand to assist with the training. Training will consist of tracking, bldg. search, narcotics detection, explosive detection, area search, evidence search, aggression as well as decoy education.

Even though we target the K-9 teams that are more isolated from other departments ( thus being held in the U P )and trainers, ALL NAPCH members are welcome to attend. There is no cost for the day and a half training. All  articles for training (odor / aggression equipment etc.) will be provided, we ask that you bring all of your utility gear with you.

To hold the seminar we need at least 10 teams to sign up, and we will take up to 20 teams thus giving us a good student to instructor ratio and less down time. To sign up for the seminar you MUST contact one of the following master trainers and reserve your spot. Sign up will end on May 5th. If we do not have enough teams signed up we will notify you of the cancellation.

CONTACT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING MASTER TRAINERS FOR YOUR RESERVATION

Lunch and dinner will be provided on May 15th. Depending on the size of the group a small charge may be applied. I have contacted the Quality Inn Suites which is located at the corner of 28 and 123 ( 13954 M28 Newberry, Mi 49868 Ph# 906-293-3218).I have blocked a group of rooms under NAPCH. The rooms will run $80.80 per night, that's the total with tax included, your dogs ARE allowed in the rooms. When you call to reserve a room advise the staff that your with NAPCH, if you have any issues please contact me. Each NAPCH member is responsible for making their own hotel reservation and is also liable for any damages that may occur ( please crate your K-9). A LEIN message will be going out with the seminar information in case your department needs some confirmation of the seminar.

For those that attended last year this is the same hotel just under a different name. For those that did not attend last year, the hotel is about 3 minutes from the training site. The Luce Co. Airport and fairgrounds are right off 28 approximately 2 miles east of 123.

We had very positive feedback from the seminar we held in 2016, and we are looking forward to having an even bigger and better one this spring-------------hope to see you there. If you have any questions concerning the seminar please contact me.
